History Medieval Europe 1. There was a civil war (war between groups from the same country) about who should be Emperor. The emperors all had a different way of ruling. Has been known that 3 emperors have been murdered in the same year. 2. They were mutinies (disputes within a group) in the between the Roman soldiers and they would also rebel against their king. 3. Tribes of Goths would break through the frontiers (boundaries) and looting (stealing goods) the rich cities. 4. In Rome there were problems because of the changes in Government. Fewer supplies from the empire meant that taxes and prices rose. It made the Romans angry. 5. In 300AD soldiers from Britain were taken to defend the parts nearer Rome unlike them who were in the farthest parts of the Roman Empire.’ 6. Public buildings, flats and houses began to fall down and were not repaired but they used the wreckage to build rough stone buildings. 7. Tribal Wars broke out and the little Roman armies had trouble. 8. Rich people went to live in their villas and tried to continue living the Roman way of life because the town area got so rough. 9. The Picts and Scots’ from Scotland Ireland Raided Wales and South- West England and the army had trouble stopping them. 10. Even the Roman Navy and Forts couldn’t stop the Saxons who were from Denmark, Holland and Germany who made the most problems.
